Summer 2025 is just around the corner, and here at the Lasipalatsikortteli, we’ve been working hard to put together an engaging programme for the Lasipalatsi square. Our inaugural season in 2024 was a great success, and we’re excited to build on that momentum.
This year, we’re continuing with some of last summer’s highlights—like the long communal May Day table and the Midsummer music programme (last year made it clear that not everyone leaves the city for Midsummer!)—while also introducing new and exciting elements.
One of last year’s most beloved features, Kim Simonsson’s “Moss Giants,” have now moved on to Söderlångvik, where they’re charming visitors to the estate. But there’s plenty more to look forward to this year: Amos Rex will present an exciting programme, including an exhibition by British-Nigerian artist Yinka Ilori, opening 24 May and running through early October. This show is beautifully complemented by Minttu Vesala’s fashion show in May and Tony Cokes’ “takeover” as a kind of grand season finale in September.
Konstsamfundet’s photo exhibition—created in collaboration with the Finnish Heritage Agency and Hufvudstadsbladet—opens in May in the square, offering a nostalgic look at historical photographs of Helsinki. It’s sure to be a crowd-pleaser.
We’re also looking forward to this summer’s outdoor café programme: from Wednesday to Friday all summer long, one of the cafés will host live entertainment—troubadours, DJs, and a variety of local artists.
And while you’re in the Glaspalatskvarteret, we highly recommend checking out two of our new tenants: Friends & Brgrs in Kulttuurikasarmi and Skandibrands in Lasipalatsi. If the weather turns, you can always catch a great film in one of Gilda’s state-of-the-art cinemas—or dive into Anna Estarriola’s and Enni-Kukka Tuomaala’s thought-provoking exhibition at Amos Rex, which offers plenty to chew on.
We’re proud of our unique neighbourhood and warmly welcome you to come and experience it for yourself.
