What says “autumn” more than the softly flowing, soul-stirring jazz echoing in the city streets? Nothing! The pulsating Summer events of the Lasipalatsikortteli slip naturally into the cooling autumn with the Fall Jazz open-air event on 13 September.
Fall Jazz brings a calm rhythm and a warm atmosphere to the heart of the city. Helmi Antila Quartet will be performing live, and the cozy atmosphere will be complemented by carefully selected DJ sets from Coco María (MEX), Tina Edwards (UK), Antti Eerikäinen and Miia Laine.
The restaurants in the quarter offer refreshing drinks and producers are bringing the best flavours of the harvest season. The Gilda and Bio Rex cinemas in the Lasipalatsi offer popcorn tastings.

15:00 MIIA LAINE: Born in Berlin and educated in London, she is a Finnish music lover who also hosts programmes on Radio Helsinki.
16:10 HELMI ANTILA QUARTET: Led by Helmi Antila, the quartet is a group of talented young musicians who play songs in Finnish composed and written by Antila.
16:50 ANTTI EERIKÄINEN: South Helsinki-based bossanova selector, founder of the Ricky-tick label, which released the Five Corner Quintet, and backer of numerous restaurants.
18:00 TINA EDWARDS: London-based DJ, curator and radio presenter, known as a champion of British jazz. She combines jazz, soulful house, disco and global rhythm music with her unique take on the music. Tina has performed at Glastonbury, the BAFTAs and festivals around the world.
19:30 COCO MARÍA combines jazz, samba, Latin funk, cumbia and rare gems from the Afro-Latin world. Coco María hosts her own morning show Breakfast Club Coco on Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide FM.
